Hi sweethearts!
It is freezing here in the beautiful land of Norway,
but you know me, I still need my studs and prints
I can`t honestly say that I am a practical dresser.
I do realize that this might seem surprising to some of you LOL
This is one of my ok-fine-it-is-bloody-cold-and-clearly-I-am-not-that-well-insulated-but-I-don`t-want-to-wear-something-boring-and-not-feel-like-me-when-braving-the-freakin-horizontal-storms-compromises.
I used to think I couldn`t wear tweed with pattern (I`ve had all sorts of funny ideas) but when I found this one (that FIT!!! hahhah) I thought screw that, let me use another one of my funny ideas and add studs from a bag to it. Logical, no?
Jacket, gloves, miniskirt come scarf and rosy bag, H&M. I love mixing textures!
Tell me, how do you translate your style into a practical look for winter?
Thank you all so much for your comments, I am answering you at your own lovely blogs

Adorable jacket! Did you stud it yourself? Looking fab girl!
Honey I stud anything I can get my hands on LOL
thanks sweetheart.
I have yet to see a non-studded outfit. My sis is fabulous! and slightly bonkers, but aren't we all..
Love it! You're making me think that I need to get my bum over to a fabric/sewing store and pick up supplies! I used to live in the mountains, and I definitely compromised style for warmth by pulling on a heavy snow jacket all of the time. Now that I live in a place that doesn't get that cold, I can use more fashionable jackets like trenchs, pea coats, and the like
OMG Thomas! you are becoming a regular reader! thank you! <3 how cute are you? Can I provide you with a studded mankini darling brother? LOLplus side of me, thank you so much for your comment! I so wish I lived somewhere where dressing practically wasn`t an issue. Another compromise that I do is not ski in a land of skiers. I can make it down a hill in emergency, but only if I pretend to dance flamenco LOL
This looks AWESOME!!! Absolutely love the jacket and your DIY studs!
Only you could take studs and add it to tweed and come out with a worthy, wearable item! Genius, Anika! I wish I could tell you how I do a practical look for winter but being so fashionably challenged, I make the best of what I've got! Usually that means jeans with a warm top and voila! Boring, I know, but I live vicariously through you!
i love that you added those studs yourself : )
Anika!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Love it dollface! I love the shoes, and I love mixing textures as well sweetheart! The entire outfit works for you as always!
Ha! Your post's title made me smile, largely in self-recognition. I've been known to walk many a mile in blistered impractical shoes. (I've yet to find a pair of truly "CUTE" practical shoes, so I continue the pain!)The jacket is very cool, esp. with the studded details.
anika! i love all the different colors, textures, and patterns in this. i feel like only you could pull this off
Thanks for clearing this up! I've been wondering lately, seeing you at work in your summer-ish dresses, if you had a huge big sweater or cardigan hidden somewhere in your office, but now it turns out that you're just a real Viking. As to your question of winter style: I LOVE knits, and look forward all summer to the day I can wear woollen cardigans and big scarves. There are so many styles this year, as well as different types of yarn, so there should be something out there to keep you warm as well? (If you ever feel cold, that is).
Love the studded tweed…such a great idea!? Vhttp://www.gritandglamour.comtwitter: @gritandglamour

love, u seriously have major talent with layering. teach me!
The idea to add studs was genius. And I wouldn't have guessed it was a DIY job at all.
The outfit looks lovely! I have the exact opposite problem of it being too cold, it is too warm wear I am at to wear all the beautiful fall clothing!
Just found you through Links a la Mode!I really like the mix of textures here! Apparently it's not cool to wear your electric blanket to work *sigh* …so I deal with winter by putting on more clothes and hoping it will pass quickly
Thank you for your sweet comment Tanvii-dear! xxWow beautiful Bella, thank you! Really appreciate your entusiasm sweetheart. you can live vicariously through me anytime you like

that jacket is STUNNING.http://lavender-lipstick.blogspot.com/
can't believe you studded that coat yourself, it's gorgeous!
Those studs make the coat so rock&roll. Great idea. And yes I recognize the too-cold-not-very-good-insulated part. You're hilarious, Anika!
wow! if you didn't say so, i would have thought you bought your jacket that way! i love your style!
