I sewed this dress yesterday from two dresses by Monki. I love stripes, even horizontal ones on wide hips!

Hi Sweethearts!

Thank you all so much for your happy birthday-wishes, and for reading and commenting here chez moi. I appreciate you so!

A while back I received a blog award from the beautiful Els of xl Fashionfile, thank you so much darling Els!

Like the stunning Vahni I have decided to not list blogs for awards because I don`t want to leave out any of you wonderful bloggers that I <3, instead I do my best to spread some serious love for you all in my Spreading the love-series where I have featured 60 bloggers in six months! I am continuing to do features, as I really do believe that I can`t just say I love you, I need to let my actions speak loud! If I haven`t featured you yet, know that I will get to you, and that I would love for you to get in touch with me if you would like to help make the bloggersphere an even more generous and supportive space.

Speaking of supporting the community, the wonderful Kristy has started a new hashtag at Twitter aimed specifically at highlighting and supporting fellow bloggers: #FTFCommunity . I have already started using the tag, as I love that Kristy is putting her superblogging-powers to such great use. The lovely blogger behind Beautifully Invisible is doing the same thing; this week she started her new feature Link Love with a twist, where she features posts that have been submitted by readers as apposed to bloggers submitting their own stuff.  Don`t you just love it?! J`adore!

In short:

There are seven questions that come with the blog award that I received, so here we go!

What inspires you?

Everything inspires me! Inspiration is everywhere to be found as long as I am open to it, both in terms of creativity and life. I am a very sensitive person, which is a challenge at times, but also makes my life so rich. I am present in the moment as much as I can be, really seing, taking it all in. I give thanks many times each day, even on hard ones,  grateful that I am able to not let the big and small moments pass me by. I choose to connect. That makes for lots of dresses, lots of laughs, lots of wonderful moments with amazing people. And that inspires me to keep getting inspired.

What is your favourite season and why?

I love every season, snowangels in Winter, red leaves in Autumn, hopeful buds in Spring. I have always had a secret love for summer, but because I was so ashamed of my body for so many years I never dared enjoy it. The past summers have been a moving time for me, as I have dared to start wearing  bathing suits to the beach, dared to sunbathe in parks baring legs and arms, as I have floated in the water for hours feeling free. It might seem like a small thing, but for most of my life I was under water. Now I am floating on top. That is what I celebrate each summer.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Making changes that will make me feel happy! I am serious about making a small business of ByAnika, selling my designs, giving workshops etc, and now I am trying to reorganize my professional life to make room for it.

If you could write a book about anything, what would you write about?

I would build on the content here at my blog, writing about coming into ones self and having ones fashion mirror it. It would by ByAnika-the book. Any takers? lol. (Thanks to my sweetheart Nefferth for actually suggesting I write such a book.)

What is your gratest passion?

Family! Friends! Designing! Blogging! Singing! My pupils! Books! Dancing! Living!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

I am fiercly loyal and dedicated, sometimes to the point of insanity. I am learning to let go a little easier. Also, I could do with manageble bangs!

What is your favourite novel?

I am always reading four books at any given time, at least. I would say The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, Paradise by Toni Morrison and Persuation by Jane Austen.

Ok, one more; Michael Moore`s Dude! Where is your country? Totally over the top, but had me laughing to the point of tears.

Basically that is how I like it in life: Totally over the top, laughing to the point of tears.
