What color dominates your closet? Does print count as a colour? I used to only wear black, but now there are hardly any black pieces in my closet. As my self esteem has grown I have embraced colour, and I love wearing all colour. I still think about it when I am in colourful clothes, like today on my way home from work. I was dragging my feet, feeling knackered, when I realized that I wasn`t wearing any black! Suddently felt boyantly happy. That is a happy moment right there. My closet is bursting with colourful dresses, a lot of rust, olive, strong blue and white. Delicious!
If money weren’t an issue how would you change the color emphasis in your closet? Honestly, it wouldn`t take my closet from colourless to colourful, serious money would take my colourful closet to colourful closets, preferably a walk-in. I would never come out of there though!
What is your mantra about mixing colors? Go bold! Don`t worry about matching colours perfectly, go for interesting combinations that show off you.
For you, how do you incorporate color into your outfits? I always wear something colourful close to my face, scarves are a fab and easy way to incorporate colour and personality in your outfits. The trouble for me is that I usually end up sewing dresses/bags/pillows/turbans from my scarves, so I always have to get more. Hang on, what am I thinking, that is not trouble, that is a legitimate reason to shop! That is my story and I am sticking to it.

I really love how much color you use, and you mix your colors with prints too. If money was no object I could do some serious damage.

You have a wonderfully colourful wardrobe and I find it really interesting that you started to wear more colour with an increase in self confidence – I do believe that there is a psychology behind colours we wear. And good point – if money were no object a walk in wardrobe would be a very good thing to buy!

Love this! And as always, you’re inspiring me with your colorful vivacity. I ought to show you a picture of my closet (it’s so tiny!) so you can see just how monochromatic my style is. I think there’s one or two shockingly colorful pieces (one chartreuse cardi comes to mind) but I never seem to wear them. The other bits of color I have are usually very dark and almost forgetfully colorful. Not very eye-catching. Obviously it means I have to do some shopping. Poor me!

I like to think that I have a very colourful wardrobe, which I do. I am trying to be more experimental in mixing colours and to learn from you. I think you mix prints perfectly because nowadays I find it hard to think of prints without thinking of Anika so you’re doing a real good job!

I looove colour. I actually have a similar sense of style to you! I wish I was more like bella from the citizen rosebud, she is so playful and clever with mixing colours and prints! I like things to match most of the time. I do like opposite colours with eachother, purple and yellow is my fav combo! I mainly stick to dark colours on the bottom, because of my big bottom lol! I really love that rust colour on you! My fav colours at the moment are actually olive and rust, very earthy

Ahh, the right picks. I agree with you

I admit before blogging I wore only black (can u believe?) and not the good kind like Valerie of Blogtobealive. It was boring, yuk! I’m glad I’m rediscovering color and patterns. It was about time. Keep doing you, sweet Anika (and other fashionistas).
