Spring is in my heart: Colour Blocking By Anika

Hi Sweethearts!

It may be snowy and cold outside, but Spring is in my heart, and now I want to enjoy my imaginary Spring through fashion! We have already established that I am in denial about where I live, so this seems like the next logical step don`t you think? I agree.

Welcome to my new series: Spring is in my heart! Every week I will sew a dress that inspired by my favourite trends for Spring.

This week colour blocking is in my heart. Clean lines, delicious colours that do all the talking in interesting combinations, how is that for unapologetic chic? I love it.

For my take on this trend I took a deep breath, left my prints behind and got crafty using parts from H&M-dresses. I couldn`t have asked for a better backdrop to my celebration of colours this week, the steel that now encompasses our house-turned-buliding site looked so beautiful, perfecting the art of colour blocking.

As for my dress, I love the simple but defined look of it; just great colours, some feathers, and moi. My days of hiding are most assuredly over. This is

Ring, Top Shop. Bangles, H&M. Understated feathery earrings, H&M. Wegdes, Nilson.

Absolutely stunning! I love the dress, it’s fabulous! I would have never thought goldy brown/orange and blue would work so well, but it does! What a unique combination! Bravo, Anika!

I haven’t tried the colour blocking trend yet, I’m honestly a little afraid of it. You pulled it off so wonderfully, though. And I can’t wait to see next week’s challenge! Keep ‘em coming, doll!

EEek! I love this Anika! You chose one of my favorite colour pairings. They complement both you and each other so well. This look screams of spring and you look stunning.
I’m not feeling much spring here yet but you can relate to that. Would you believe yesterday they were calling for 50cm of snow! Fortunately it appears to have missed us but I don’t want to jinx it I’m really looking forward to seeing your nude look. It’s one of my favorite spring trends. xo

did you realize that your dress looks perfect with the metal behind you. how something simple can be a fabulous inspiration. i love the animal print dress. you look fabulous with bold patterns. it is like you said in the article, if you are curvy stay away from prints, well you have proven them wrong. but you are fabulous with accessories, the bold jewelry are the finishing touch. oh those earrings, i simple adore them.
