This weeks Friend Friday questions deal with the delicate subject of fitness.
I would like to start with a disclaimer:
“What you are about to read are my honest and spontanious responses. I have the utmost respect for people who are fit. I, however, am not.”
Do you keep some kind of fitness routine?
I follow a rigorous routine of throwing dance offs in my living room. Why? Because I am intent on having as much fun as possible while moving about.
Has working out, maybe training for a marathon or something of that nature, helped with your own perception of body image?
In a word, no. But rapelling down a mountain (ok, fine, a wee hill) gave me a deep appreciation of the force that is gravity. Also, it gave me a chance to perfect the art of denial. I will never ever own up to those pictures of my bottom coming down from above.
When you are hitting the gym or just going out for a long walk what do you wear?
At this point I would like to direct your attention to the pictures displayed in this post, as they serve as a perfect illustration of “Anika does sporty-chic”.
Is it about functionality or fashion?
Do you feel there is a cultural perception of what you ‘should’ be doing for your own physical fitness?
Yes. I probably should stop being plus sized.
The thing is though, I am healthy. I am a vegetarian, how unhealthily can I possibly eat? (Don`t answer that.)
Dream big… what would be your ultimate fitness goal?
That would be to take my dancing to the next level as a professional flamenco dancer ,dancing my soul and heart out in a two hour solo-performance to the fierce rythm of a drum and the clapping of hands.
I bought this H&M dress in Brussels. It was six sizes too small, so I cut off the bottom of it and added the material to the back. It was never going to happen otherwise.
As you know I like to spread some serious love here chez moi. Recently I have been at the receiving end of a shower of love, thanks to Stephanie of The Loudmout who very kindly featured me as her inspiration for April. I can not tell you how much I appreciate all of your lovely comments and our conversations on twitter, sweethearts.
I also need to give a big thanks to Casee , B, Bella and Ann for giving me lots of help and input on my header and sidebar. You guys are true blogger divas, and I am in awe of your kindness and skills!
